I've been talking to Ken about getting a little video camera. I wanted to just get a little cheapo one, but in reading some of the customer reviews, the sentiment was pretty much, "Don't waste your money." Most advised spending a little extra to get better quality, and Ken agreed. He told me to do a some research, and if we're going to get one, let's get a good one. He was okay with spending 3 times or so as much as I spent today, but I was hesitant to spend that much. After hearing a few things about this little guy on the left, and reading what were primarily positive reviews, this is the one I ordered today: The Flip.
Keep in mind, I wanted nothing fancy or difficult to maneuver, and nothing that would cause me major headaches when it comes to getting the videos onto the computer. I think this will be perfect. It says it's about the size of a pack of cigarettes, and it's got a 2 G drive which will hold 60 or so minutes of video. It uses 2 AA batteries, and I already use rechargeable AA's for my digital camera, so I like that, too. I didn't really want to mess around with mini-DVD's or more memory cards, so I like the hard drive. As for uploading, you just plug it into the USB, and the reviews stated that the software is extremely simple to use.
I'm looking forward to getting some fun little snippets of life at Nutwood up here. When the turkeys flew over the house and landed in the back yard, I wished I could have gotten it on video! I think it will be fun to do some stuff like that, so I'm excited to get this next week. I love gadgets!

Your are such a "geek", maybe that is why I love you so :o)
You don't need to be a geek to appreciate this little number. My daughter is the farthest she can possibly be from being geeky, yet she loves here gadgets too. Looking forward to footage from Nutwood Junction. (Hugs) Indigo
