Big Stars Come Out for L.A.Hoops
Oh Lordy, here we go again.
If the Lakers or the Knicks are in the NBA finals, us poor saps in the viewing audience are subjected to endless shots of celebrities in the crowd. Oh, look! There's Ray Liotta! Hey, it's Cameron Diaz! Oh WOW! Is that Tony Danza?!
I'm so dazzled, and so impressed by their caliber of fans.
When I lived in Indianapolis and followed the Pacers, we, as a city, were shocked and humbled by the presence of so many luminaries. They put our fans to shame--we'd have nobodies like Larry Bird or Peyton Manning sitting in our crowd, and they're just other sports guys. Who cares?
I can only hope the networks continue to show crowd shots so I can see people like Paula Abdul and Spike Lee. And a game isn't complete without a shot of Mr. Nicholson on the sidelines at his courtside seat. I don't want to see the stupid game, are you kidding? Show me the stars and tell me about their show on Fox or their upcoming movie!
Only losers care about the team, the players, and the game. Only a bunch of dumb hicks would want to see the plays and the replays. But then what do we know? We're just Hoosiers!
