...it will never die.
The big brouhaha on CNN at the moment is what Wolf Blitzer just called the "Rush Limbaugh phenomenon." Phenomenon? Which phenomenon would that be? The fact that he has an audience? Oh...THAT phenomenon!
Apparently the big bag o' wind said today that John McCain is no friend to the Republican party, and a traitor to the conservatives in the GOP. I've just about had it with this idiocy. I'm a registered Republican, but I have yet to decide who I will vote for, and much of it will depend on who the nominees happen to be. I'm fiscally conservative, but socially liberal. Let me say here and now that numbnuts like Rush Limbaugh give Republicans a bad name, and they do not speak for me. Do you get that, dickweed? You do not speak for me. I think you're a big jerk, and you do nothing but sow divisiveness and discord. We have candidates this year that have actually worked together--what a concept!--with the other party to get things done. Most people in the country are just as pissed off at Congress as they are at the president, because they feel that our legislators refuse to work together, thus accomplishing nothing. NOTHING! What are we paying them for? To sit back and argue with each other, simply because they belong to different parties? We're paying them to run our country and they work for us. We're paying them to enact legislation that will make life better for each and every one of us.
Limbaugh's vilification of Senator McCain is abhorrent to me. His particular strain of bile and animosity serves no purpose but to divide, when it seems painfully obvious that if we want to turn things around in our still-great country, we all need to work together. And I believe it is a huge disservice and an insult of the worst kind to accuse McCain of being a traitor to anything or anyone. Let's see Limbaugh spend five years in a prison camp and see how he fares. There was never any danger of that, however, because during Viet Nam, Limbaugh was classified as 4-F (after he dropped out of college, by the way) due to a pilonidal cyst. Do you know what that is, folks? Two words: ass abscess. How interesting! Read about Rush and his cyst here.
Disclaimer: Please note that these are merely my personal opinions. I mean no insult to anyone other than Limbaugh and others of his ilk.

Rush Limbaugh is an asshole ! Each Republican is stating his or her case and the voters will decide, not the media. The media has too much license and influence as it is.
As for Blitzer, he has a major problem not drooling over Obama, as indicated by his biased questions in the democratic debate. I guess Hillary didn't buy as many trees for Israel as Obama.
Good for you ! There's not enough people answering back to these jerks !

I suspect that's part of the problem, Jimmy! I'm usually fairly easygoing, as you may have noticed, but sometimes things just rub me the wrong way, and I've about had it with people like Limbaugh. Sheer idiocy!

Honey we kicked his but out of missouri because he got on our nerves lol jk I believe this is your blog and you have the right to write anything you want and I am a democrat and I will fight for you to keep that right ...

Sherry, as I mentioned, I'm a Republican, but I will also fight for anyone, regardless of party affiliation, to voice their opinion. My problem with people like Limbaugh is that such opinions do not further any kind of dialogue, and do not bring anyone together--nothing is accomplished. We have people on both sides of the fence in this election who have worked with the other party to get things done, and I believe this is exactly what we need to do as a country.
Hugs,
Beth
Are ya feeling better now?! I hope so. While I don't like when a talk radio host cuts down anyone, I feel that McCain is too liberal. Is that his fault? No. I listened briefly last night to a talk radio show host who talked about the fact that there is no one in the race who hasn't been put there by someone who has an agenda. Sad to say I believe him. I don't agree with any of the candidates. None stand for what I stand for. Grrrr. But I voted.

Ah Yes, a quiet night here at Nutwood. :o)
The funny thing is that when Beth and I first met, she was still a Democrat. I often tease her that I brought her over to the dark side <evil laughter>. Her parents are eternally grateful. :o)
Bob Dole, who ran for President in 1996, stepped up and sent a letter to Rush asking him to "back off". Of course, that did not work, and now all are saying that the others are "using" Bob Dole. First, I do not think that is possible, and second, it only shows poor judgement. All the candidates are tired, and this is a lose-lose situation. One thing that did come out of this is that Romney showed some of his true colors. My only hope is that the election is not Hillary vs. Romney, cause I might not vote for either.
As Beth has mentioned several times, I think I could bring myself to vote for Barack, he has strong roots, morals, and I truly believe he is an agent for change. It will not be more of the same with either Barack or John McCain in the White House.:o)

Thanks, Traci, yeah...I do feel better! <grin>
No matter how you feel, I'm so happy to hear that you voted. As I've mentioned, our primary here isn't until May, so we have very little voice in who is chosen. Believe me, it rankled me to no end today, as I listened to all the rhetoric, that I couldn't vote!
Hugs,
Beth
Remind me to never ruffle your feathers...(winks) At the end of the day despite who said what to who (<Dr Seuss is in the house) you have to fallow your heart and decide who you as an individual think will best serve the country....hopefully without any more distraction from the media and Hollywood. Yeah, you're right, Indy. I try not to get TOO riled up about this stuff, but sometimes...sometimes I just can't stand it. Tonight was one of those nights. :)

Congress has delayed my ability to file our income tax that i need desperately. I wonder how many of them have had to wait on money that in reality was theirs and go without transportation?
Limbaugh makes me sick.
