Super Bowl ads and coverage review

I was going to put up just 3 on here, but after watching them again, I have 6 that I really liked. Not all of them were in the top 10, but some of them appealed to me for various reasons.

First, my favorite was the Bridgestone one, with the screaming animals. Because I love watching our critters, this one really made me laugh. Just the screaming itself was pretty funny!

My second favorite was for Tide, and titled The Talking Stain. The way the stain spews out gibberish whenever the poor guy is talking was enough to make us both giggle. "Blahblahblah!" (I had to put up a YouTube video instead, because the other one wouldn't load.)

Next was a T-Mobile commercial, with Charles Barkley. Sir Charles is one of my favorite athletes, mostly because of his outspokenness and willingness to tell it like it is. This ad tickled me, because it seems that having Charles calling you often is not such a good thing.

More critters: Toyota and the badgers:

And yet more critters: FedEx and the giant pigeons. I liked this one because it reminded me of the great '50's science fiction movies, in which various creatures would go on a rampage in a city. And giant pigeons are one of the last things I would think of to go on a rampage (although I'm sure that anyone who lives in the city might disagree with me).

Finally, this is just kind of a sweet one, especially with what is going on in politics right now. Two complete opposites come together over Cokes and an appreciation for our nation's capitol, with some great views of Washington, D.C. landmarks.

There were plenty of others that I really enjoyed, such as the Budweiser "Rocky" Clydesdale, the Vitamin Water ad with Shaquille O'Neal as a jockey (!!!), and of course, the Pepsi one with Justin Timberlake. I think this was a great year for ads, and it was also pretty cool that the game was every bit as good! It's always fun when the Super Bowl lives up to its hype, and this is two years in a row now. (Last year was great for us, because my Colts and Ken's Bears played--not sure how big of a deal it was for the rest of the country.) Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers did a great job with their half-time show, and I can say that they really are one of the best live bands I've ever seen.

All in all, great game, great coverage, great ads. Super Bowl XLII, I crown thee a success!

I had to laugh at the top one with all the animals screaming myself....My favorite was the Clydesdale Budweiser.....I had left the living room for something and Doc called me in to watch it....He knew I would get a kick out of it, he explained the Rocky theme was playing in the background...

About 10 years ago, my ex's aunt and uncle were actually caretakers for a couple of the Budweiser Clydesdales on their farm....I've been up close and personal with them....beautiful, magnificient creatures....

Indy, my Dad told me that when he was growing up on their farm, they had a couple of Clydesdales as work horses. He said they were the best, such hard workers and such great horses. He said, "Their hooves are the size of dinner plates." I loved that description!

I agree, it was a great game, and for once, I actually watched all of it, and the commercials.  Usually, we have people over and when you're the hostess...well, you just don't get that opportunity.  I thought the halftime show was great, too.  Whats wrong with going with true blue entertainment, someone that appeals to all, and no wardrobe malfunction!
