Happy surfing!

Up before 6 AM today. Ugh. I wonder why sometimes I can't go back to sleep? Just a racing mind, I suppose. I thought about napping on the couch, but I really don't feel tired at all! Maybe I will later.

In the meantime, I've been reading the latest issue of Time, and one of their online features is a list of their 50 best websites for 2008. Sweet! I browsed through them all, and found a few that sounded intriguing. If you get a chance, take a look and see if there are some you can use. I still have some I want to check out, but I can tell there are a couple that I'm really going to like.

Someecards has extremely irreverent ecards, and I was cracking up. How about a friendship card that says, "If I were going to shoot you, it would just be in the leg." Or a breakup card that says, "That self-absorbed psychopath and I got back together." Wow, some of these are rough, and not for the faint of heart! Hmm, I think I'll find a funny one to send to Shane.

Hulu is a pretty cool site if you want to see clips or entire episodes of TV shows. I rarely do that, but there's quite a bit available. A related site is Modernfeed, which links you up to various shows and feeds. I watched one of the polar bears at the San Diego zoo for a while, but he didn't jump in the water.

I'm intrigued by Psychcentral, which has extensive information on various mental health disorders. You can take quizzes for some disorders to see if you may have them, and you can ask questions like, "What may cause my sister to behave irrationally?" Boy, that's a loaded question! I'll explore it further, but it looks like there's some good information there.

I'm definitely going to love Opensourcefood, where people can post recipes. I'm always up for another recipe website!

They also included a lot of sites that I have no interest in, such as sites with fashion tips and trends, stuff like that. Not for me, but there are definitely some fun ones there!

Congratulations to the Boston Celtics for winning the championship, their first in 22 years. Gee, I sure wish the finals would have gone on longer, maybe until the end of the summer! (I'm being sarcastic...I can't believe it's the latter half of June, and it's just now over.) Ken and I watched most of it, and when we went to bed, the Celtics were up by something like 29. They ended up winning by 39. Good God! Well, they obviously wanted it more, and Kevin Garnett was amazing. I like him pretty well. He's one of the rare ones who came right out of high school and hasn't imploded.

Anyhoo, neither of us felt bad about falling asleep and not watching the end of the game. I was reasonably certain the Lakers wouldn't come back from a 29 point deficit.

Maybe they should have substituted some of their celebrity fans. <snort>

Thank you for doing all that cybersurfing work and sharing it with us!  I have been known to wake up too early and wander around questioning, "Should I try to go back to sleep? Should I just call it a night and get dressed for the day?"  I hate that.  Thank goodness for Jland; I can go there and do some catch-up.

I am finally getting to your blog entries, sorry it took so long.  I enjoy what you have to say and find the read informative and humorous.  Sometimes I don't have anything to say in response, so I don't.

Today I had a big cup of coffee, and I have a lot to say...((:>))

Be well, take care, and rest easy.

thanks for the website ideas.  I will be checking some of them out.  Hey, I noticed on your sidebar that you're a "retired microbiologist."  That's very interesting.  I'd love to hear more about it.  How do you like retirement?

I watched some basketball, too, a rarity for me  - but it was pretty exciting!!
