I am...El Producto!

Before I say anything else, let me clarify my previous post (the one right before this one) about long fingernails. I honestly don't object to them (although they're not for me), but I don't think extremely long fingernails have a place in healthcare. Just too much chance of passing along an infection from one patient to another. My main objection is to anyone accusing a company of misogyny because they can't use the company's product due to a personal choice that the person has made. I find absurdly long fingernails--I'm talking those that are an inch or more--to be impractical, and if you make the choice to have nails like that, there are going to be certain things that you cannot do. I don't think that companies should be forced to design their products around the few people that choose to have such nails, and I certainly don't think that it is even remotely fair to accuse them of misogyny. That was MY whole problem with the thing!

Okay, on to other things. I hope you all had a great day! It was beautiful here. A few clouds every so often, but in the afternoon I was sitting out in the sun reading my book, so a respite from the sun felt good. I took a bike ride this morning, took out the garbage, did a couple of loads of laundry, got caught up on a some correspondence, actually hand-washed some dishes (!), and just enjoyed reading and being outside. The sun feels so good to me, but I have to be careful and not get burned. I try to limit my time in the sun, but it really DOES feel good! While I was sitting outside, one of the Orioles came up and ate some orange--he didn't seem to be too bothered by me. I also saw a butterfly chowing down on the orange. He wasn't just sitting there sipping delicately at it, he was diving his head down into it over and over. It cracked me up! I've never seen a butterfly eat so enthusiastically. Also, while I was sitting there reading, I heard a little commotion a few feet away. I looked up, and a squirrel was sitting on the deck railing, maybe 6 feet from me. I said, "What are you doing?" and got up to walk over to him. He leaped off of the railing onto a nearby tree branch--it was an impressive feat, and it really tickled me!

I fully intended to write a letter to Ken's Mom, but I'll probably save that till tomorrow. I've reached critical mass in The Magus, and I just might have to finish it tonight. It's salad and leftover quiche tonight, so no cooking to worry about.

If you have a moment, please be sure to visit Helen. Her Ken has had surgery, and she's worried about him. Please take a moment to give her some encouraging words!

Women with well manicured long nails are intriguing a must with me. Absurdly long nails should be used to pierce their own eardrums. BTW, did you know that "El Producto" is a cigar, and a good one at that.

I was El producto during my absence from computer land. Now I'm paying a small price for it...ugh...I can't catch a break these days (Forever grateful I quit smoking). I'm nursing the beginnings of a lung infection. I'm zoned out on Bronkaid, hopefully I caught it before it gets too bad. I stopped by Helen's already for a visit. I would of loved to see the butterfly devouring the orange so enthusiasticly. As for Squirrels I have a bad egg who loves to throw half eaten crab apples at me when I'm sitting outside. She's been around for a few years now. Thankfully the cats haven't caught her. Even with her moodiness I'm rather fond of the fact she continues to live around here. (Hugs)Indigo

I must have missed or forgotten the fingernail thing. I have never had a manicure and can not grow my nails long for nothing so i agree about having short nails. In my deli if you have fake nails that are long, you are taken out of the deli. Period.
Glad you got to sit out and enjoy the sun and the birdies.
