Ooo, Harlequins....

Back from the book club meeting!

That was fun. Jillian even had some discussion questions for us that were included in her version of the book, so we talked about those. We got a little ahead of ourselves and talked about the current book (The Magus by John Fowles) a bit, but none of us are very far into it. Of those of us there, it sounded like I was the farthest, and I'm only about a fifth of the way into it. We all are enjoying it so far.

As for the Brewing Co. (it's a microbrewery), I had a pint of Lake Effect and a pint of Mishawaka Munich, both pale ales and both quite tasty. My pals also had a bite to eat, but I'm making Raspberry Chicken tonight, so I didn't eat anything.

Mostly, it was great just to see 'em and get caught up on how everyone is doing, as well as the latest at the lab. I had to shake my head. I said, "It sounds like a few things have changed, but not a whole lot." They had to agree. I sure hope things ease up for them at some point--they work way too hard to deal with some of that junk. I know, because I used to work way too hard right along with them!

When Aubrey got there, we hugged, and I said, "Sure, make me stand on my tiptoes!" She said, "And I'm wearing flats, too!" I said, "Shut up!" Ha ha! (She's rather tall, and I...am not.)

Hope everyone is staying cool and starting to dry out. I don't think we're due for more rain here until Friday, then the weekend is supposed to be gorgeous! Maybe Ken and I can get a bike ride in together. I asked Cousin Shane, too, if he'd like to come over some weekday if he's off, or on the weekend when Ken is on a business trip, and go for a bike ride. (I was thinking that he could use Ken's bike, but if he wanted to bring his bike over, all 3 of us could go for a ride on any weekend.) Shane thought that sounded fun, and considering that this is our old stomping grounds, I think we'd definitely enjoy it! We used to ride everywhere on these back roads, and after the past couple of days, I can say that it's still every bit as pleasant. My legs definitely don't enjoy it quite as much as 30 years ago, but the rest of me does!

It's been years since I've been on a bike and I know for a fact I've never seen Doc on one and we've been together 5 years the 27th of this month. (Hugs)Indigo
