True love ways

What a pleasure to wish my parents a very Happy Anniversary, and to wish them many more to come. They are the best people I know, and a wonderful example of how things are supposed to work. I found a few quotes that I think might apply:
Love at first sight is easy to understand; it's when two people have been looking at each other for a lifetime that it becomes a miracle.
        ~~Amy Bloom
A successful marriage requires falling in love many times, always with the same person.
        ~~Mignon McLaughlin
Happy marriages begin when we marry the ones we love, and they blossom when we love the ones we marry.
        ~~Tom Mullen
And what could very well be the very best advice, in very simple terms:
To keep your marriage brimming,
With love in the loving cup,
Whenever you're wrong admit it;
Whenever you're right shut up
        ~~Ogden Nash

Love you, Mom and Dad.

61 years...dang that is a long time!  With the same person??  You just don't hear too many couples going the long haul these days...my parents will be at 51 this year, and they, too, have managed to stay together.  It is hard seeing our parents age...they get a little slower, weaker, and if/when a condition sets in, it just takes so much out of them.  Dad still drives, but mom, notsomuch.

Love that Buddy Holly song "True Love Ways."  I am so inspired by people such as your parents, and it sounds like they are more in love than ever after all these years.  I am looking forward to celebrating this milestone with Mike someday.
