"ER" et al

Does anyone still watch "ER"? Anyone reading this, I mean.

The show remains consistently good, and Ken and I both love the characters. It's neat to watch young "upstarts" like Pratt and Morris turn into wonderful doctors, with great skill and great compassion. Seeing Abby struggle this season was hard, and seeing her and Luka separate was even harder.

Warning: Spoilers Ahead! Last night was the season finale. We were both happy to see Luka and Abby reunite, although I think I've heard that they're both leaving the show. I said, "I'm sorry they're leaving, but I'm glad they're leaving together." Luka, don't go! Ha! Steve Buscemi guest-starred last night, and he is absolutely one of my favorites. I don't think I've ever disliked anything I've seen him in, whether it was "Fargo," "The Big Lebowski," or "The Sopranos." LOVE the guy, and he did a great job last night. There was a cliffhanger, of course, with someone getting blown up at the end. Tune in this fall! It will be their last season, which makes me very sad.

The show usually makes me cry at some point--when Dr. Green died a few years ago, I think I might have actually sobbed a bit--and although I never had to spend a lot of time in ER's (just the occasional blood draw), I've heard that the medical scenes are fairly accurate. Of course, the show's creator, Michael Crichton, is an MD.

"My Name is Earl" was also excellent! I mentioned that I haven't been much into it this season, but last night, they did an outstanding job. Earl is back on track to appease Karma!

And "The Office"? How can this show keep getting more and more funny? It was pretty painful to watch Michael singing "Goodbye Toby" to the tune of "Goodbye Stranger." A bit of a cliffhanger on this one, too. Ken and I gasped in astonishment! *GASP*

Thursday night IS must-watch TV here at Nutwood!

Hey, I just saw our Swainson's Thrush. They're only supposed to migrate through here, but they've been here quite a while. I wonder if they're going to stick around? Kick your little birdy shoes off, sit a spell!

I see that I had a comment on my entry about Dolly Parton and Howard Stern, in which the commenter called me a "conservative prick," told me to get a sense of humor and "get a life," and then delivered a truly devastating blow by telling me to "Go donate to charity or volunteer in your child's classroom." Ooooo, burn! I'm still reeling at such a clever insult! I guess they missed the part where I said that no one is forcing anyone to read this (or anything else for that matter), and if you don't care for it, feel free to move along. Besides, isn't "prick" sort of gender-specific?

You go, girl!  A very deserved reply.  I subscribe
to that old adage,  "I may not agree with every-
thing you say,  but I would defend to the death
your right to say it . "  Wonder why commentor
felt the need to be so vehement?     Pat

I've been lucky with the trolls on my blog.  So far none but I know lot's of folks who have been bitten by that particularly ugly bug (being kind here).  I was devastated by ER last night.  I can't believe we have to wait until fall to find out who was in that Ambulance.  Also, Abby was very close.  Was she hurt/killed also?
Grrrrrr.  I'm an ER junkie and even watch the re-runs on TNT every morning.  lol.

Great response to the Troll.  If the troll does not like what you have to say, I will be happy to take it up with him - come chat with her husband and see what he has to say.
