The need to read

After a quick trip to the store this morning, I did some puttering (I'm getting quite good at puttering!) around here, and sat my butt down to finish our latest book club book, Under the Net by Iris Murdoch. Actually, I'm a couple of weeks behind, because I should have finished this one at the end of April. It's strange, but I'm not spending as much time reading as I thought I would. That may change. I got kind of stuck about two-thirds of the way through the book, but once I got going again, it sped by. It was pretty good, with quite a bit of humor, and a fairly pleasant main character named Jake. Next up is Wide Sargasso Sea by Jean Rhys. But before I start that, I'm two Time magazines behind! ACK!

I think I'll order the next couple of books on the list. See that Better World Books link over to the left? I really like ordering from them, because they sell used books for a really good price, and there is no shipping charge in the U.S. They also use carbon free shipping, a portion of their proceeds go to fund world literacy, AND they're based right here in Indiana, just one town over from us. I can't see any downside to ordering from this place, and I try to do so whenever I can.

I've had the Food Network on all afternoon and I'm getting hungry! Just leftovers tonight, but I've got a roast thawing out to make tomorrow.

Perhaps more later. I need to get busy with some reading!
