Sur la table

After some deliberation, Ken and I decided to order a new dining room set. The one we have is serviceable, but we both agreed that we wanted something a little nicer and something that matches our stuff a little better. JC Penney had a great deal on a rectangular table that has leaves and will expand to a 54" square table, plus you get 2 extra chairs, so we'll have a couple of extras to stash in the basement until we need them.

Our furniture is a sort of medium, cherry color, and I think this will match nicely. It's solid wood, and I've always been happy with stuff from Penney's, so I'm looking forward to getting it set up! It's on backorder at the moment, but that's okay, because it will give us time to work on the garage and get our workout equipment moved. I can't stand sitting without cushions for a long time, so I also ordered some new cushions for the chairs, ones that match better. (We have an open living room/dining room, so we're slowly working on getting everything coordinated.)

Both of us prefer simple, clean lines. Before I met Ken, I had purchased a coffee table and end tables in the mission style, and Ken tolerates likes it, too. All of our furniture purchases together have been in that style, with that medium color of wood. I think this will be a nice addition, and I also like that we can make the table bigger if we need to, and I like the 2 extra chairs.

I'm pleased with our purchase!

Looks like Obama has won North Carolina by a big margin, but Indiana is still too close to call.

I like that style also.  It looks beautiful.  I love getting something
new.  It inspires me to clean and paint and things.  All I am getting
this spring is a new set of matresses and that inspires me to sleep!
Not sure I got the right set,  have to get used to them.  I like to
shop Penney's.  I have been pleased with the quality.
What do you think about a Clinton-Obama ticket or vice versa?  Pat

I never thought about checking out JC Penney for a Dining set. Doc and I have been looking for awhile now and haven't found anything that appeals to us. We have a very old, very cheap set now. I works for it's function. I want to get something that has extra leaves in it. As I'm the one who gets to do the family get together for Christmas. We are thinking of going Antique shopping. Both of us love the older warm wood styles. I want something that is timeless and will continue to hold up over time. (Hugs) Indigo
