Good writing, good reading

I mentioned that this month's book club book is Sophie's Choice, by William Styron. I'm several pages into it now, and what a pleasant reminder of some outstanding writing. Everything just flows, and the conversations seem so natural, the descriptions so effortless, and the content so disturbing and thought-provoking. There's a lot going on, but Styron pulls it all together wonderfully. Wow. I'm amazed and impressed all over again.
