Behold...the LZR Racer!

Ken and I have been watching the U.S. Olympic Trials for the past couple of weeks. Can you tell we're fired up for the Olympics?! Yet another thing we both love, and we're looking forward to watching this year's coverage from Beijing (and hoping that Chicago will get the 2016 bid, so we can go in person).

In the past couple of weeks, we've watched gymnastics, track and field, and most recently, swimming. There is more swimming tonight, and Michael Phelps has the chance to qualify to break Mark Spitz's gold medal record. In watching the guy, he really is phenomenal, and he's going to be a lot of fun to watch in the Olympics.

Ken and I recently read something about how NASA helped design the U.S. team's new suits in conjunction with Speedo--that's Michael Phelps modeling the suit there to the left, and he had input into the new suits, as well. And yes, feel free to chuckle a bit, because seriously...how can you not? I guess Michael isn't exactly shy!

Anyhoo, Ken did a little research and found some neat information about it for one of his Science Scene entries. Read about the new LZR Racer suit and be sure to vote in the poll he provided for your consideration--I think you'll enjoy the choices.

I didn't know he was Jewish. That picture will change a bit after he gets out of that cold pool.

Um, Ok. Eeeeeww.....
He's hanging a bit to the left..or is it straight up?
And really, do we HAVE to see it? I'd be totally distracted while watching !

... looks kind of cool ... 10 years ago, I would have worn one to train in ... not to swim ... as I don't do that ... maybe I will save the duckets and get one anyway ..!
