Heavens to Murgatroid!

Mercy me, what excitement!

On my way back from the store, I heard a siren behind me, and saw a sheriff's car coming up fast behind me. I wasn't speeding (well...not a lot), so I was pretty sure it wasn't me. I pulled over and he raced by. A couple of minutes later, I heard another siren and it was a fire truck. I knew I wasn't on fire, so this time I was sure it wasn't me! They raced by, too, and of course, there's always a moment when you wonder if they're going to your house. They didn't turn on our road (whew!), but I sure wonder what happened and where, and hope no one was hurt.

Gets pretty wild around these parts, eh? Sheriff cars and fire trucks! That's about all the excitement I can handle today.

I get this big knot in my throat and in my stomache that bounces around when I hear a siren , when my daughter was ill I actually would bust out crying at times when on would go by my office .. those were the most stressful days but it never goes away..

Be thankful!  I always feel bad for the people the police cars and fire engines are going to.

I'm rarely that lucky. If a cop car comes up behind me with lights on, it's usually because I've been speeding.  I am being a GOOD GIRL these days though.  If the speed limit is 35, I set my cruise control!  LOL

... you always kind of wonder where they are going when they are off, sirens blaring ... you hope (at least I do) that know one is too badly hurt and that there isn't a greater danger ...

... as much as I don't care for police ... they do rush off into the unknown ...

That would actually make the newspaper (the WEEKLY newspaper) in our little dot on the map so I can see why you are so excited!  LOL

Oh my gosh, this reminded me of my daughter when we first moved into the city after living out in the country. She was fascinated by the sirens and would race, sliding down the hallway in her socks(we had wood floors then too, we used to live above the shop where I worked in an old victorian house - I miss it) just to try to see where the sirens were going. At the time she was only 4, it was amusing to hear the siren and see a flash of clothing sliding past the door to look out the front foyer windows (we were on main street so it was quite often)...Thanks for the flashback of a delightful memory of Skye.
